Built from the development chair — not a textbook

Amy spent years as a senior development leader supporting over 2,000 organizations. She holds the CFRE designation, the credential that requires demonstrated fundraising performance, not just coursework. She coached one professional from a $3,000 annual gift to a $27M blended commitment over three years. The tools in this library came out of that work.

FAQ

Straight answers

Is this worth it if I'm a team of one?

That's exactly who this is for. A solo development director at a small org has no one to hand off to, no one to ask, and no time to build tools from scratch. This is the backup system you don't have.

Is this worth $50/month when I can find fundraising templates for free online?

You can. Google will return 47 versions of an annual campaign template, most of them built by someone who has never run one. What you're paying for is curation and practitioner judgment — every resource in the library came out of a real campaign, a real board fight, or a real major gift ask. The $50 question isn't "can I find something free." It's "how many hours is my time worth, and do I want to spend them sorting through material I can't vet?"

Who is this actually built for?

Development directors, CDOs, and fundraising managers at small-to-mid-size nonprofits, especially people running a one- or two-person shop with a full program to deliver and no one to hand work off to. If you're a solo operator who has been in the field long enough to know what you need but not enough infrastructure to build it from scratch, this is for you. If you're a brand-new fundraiser with no field experience, start with the Resource Library. If you're a large organization looking to train a team, see the Organizations page.

What's the difference between the Resource Library and Coaching Membership — practically speaking?

Resource Library is the warehouse of guides, tools, templates, e-Courses, and other downloadable resources. You come in, search for what you need, download it, put it to work. It's built for practitioners who know what they're doing and just need it done faster. Coaching Membership is for when you're navigating something you haven't navigated before — a capital campaign you've never led, a major donor relationship that's stalled, a board that won't engage, a staffing situation with no clean answer. The 1:1 sessions are built around what you're actually working through, not a curriculum. Weekly office hours give you a standing touchpoint even between sessions. If your situation is complicated, the $100/month difference is the cheapest senior development counsel you'll find.

Will I actually use this, or will it become another subscription I forget about?

That depends on whether you're actively running a development program. If you have campaigns to plan, donors to move, board members to activate, or a team to manage, there's something in the library for all of it, and it's searchable. The practitioners who get the most out of membership are the ones who come in with a specific problem and leave with a tool they can use that week. If you're between positions or in a role where fundraising is a small part of your job, this probably isn't the right moment.

What if I join and it's not what I expected?

Cancel anytime — no contract, no lock-in. If you join and the library doesn't match what you needed, email info@therdprocoach.com and tell me what was missing. That's how the library gets better.

Can I upgrade from Resource Library to Coaching Membership later?

Yes. Upgrade anytime from your member profile. Your billing adjusts on the next cycle. Most people who upgrade do it because something specific came up — a campaign launch, a major gift ask, a leadership transition — and they wanted a practitioner in their corner for it.

Do you offer pricing for teams or organizations?

Yes. Organizations, networks, and multi-site nonprofits can access team licensing and organizational training through a separate pricing structure. Email info@therdprocoach.com or visit the Organizations page.

Can I use the templates as-is, or do they require significant customization?

Both. Most templates are built to work with minimal editing — just your org name, your logo, your specific numbers. Some, like the annual campaign plan or the board recruitment guide, are frameworks you'll shape to your situation. None of them require you to start from scratch or know how to format a Word document.
